King Records: Japan's Iconic Anime IP Meets AI February 24, 2026
Genies partnered with King Records, the leading anime and music subsidiary of Kodansha, Japan's largest publishing group, to bring King's globally recognized characters to life as interactive AI companions. The first focus is Hypnosis Mic, a multimedia franchise spanning hip-hop, anime, manga, and live performance.

The first experience features gudetama, whose low-key humor and relatable personality have built a devoted Gen Z and Millennial fanbase.

WEBTOON: Webcomic Characters Step Off the Page April 27, 2026
The most recent deal might be the most ambitious. WEBTOON Entertainment, the global entertainment company behind some of the world's largest storytelling platforms, partnered with Genies to develop character-driven chat and digital experiences. Through the collaboration, participating creators can extend their characters into interactive 3D formats using avatar and creator tools integrated into WEBTOON's English platform.
The rollout begins this summer with a curated selection of titles including The Greatest Estate Developer, The Knight Only Lives Today, and My In-Laws are Obsessed with Me. Beyond chat, the companies will also introduce interactive digital collectibles. The program is fully opt-in for creators, with a future monetization stream built in.
