In July, we announced our partnership with Unity to bring our creative tools and AI-driven avatar technology to developers worldwide. With our tools, our aim is to make it easier to build customizable, intelligent characters that evolve and interact seamlessly across Unity-based games. As a stepping stone towards that vision, we’re excited to make our first avatar creation tools available to developers. The Genies Avatar SDK gives you everything you need to integrate expressive, customizable avatars directly into your own games and virtual experiences. 

With the Avatar SDK, you can provide your players with a next-gen digital identity - a fully customizable avatar that’s game-ready out of the box. The included Avatar Editor and Genies Closet let players design how they look and express themselves through a wide range of clothing, hairstyles, and accessories.

For developers, our interoperable wearables framework makes it easy to create and distribute your own avatar clothing and accessories. These can be earned, rewarded, or sold to players - and persist in their inventories across any experience that supports Genies avatars.

As we continue expanding our suite of developer tools, our collaboration with Unity will introduce our AI Avatar System - bringing avatars to life as intelligent, evolving characters that can think, learn, and interact across games and experiences. These avatars retain memory, express emotion, and adapt to players in real time, making them feel truly alive - whether acting as quest-givers, co-op companions, or evolving based on player choices.

The Avatar Framework: Powering Stylized, Persistent Characters

At the core of the SDK is our Avatar Framework - a flexible system for building high-quality avatars that feel natural in your game world. It’s designed to make characters persistent, interoperable, and fully customizable so that you can define your own look, style, and animation logic while maintaining cross-platform compatibility for any experience where a player logs into their Genies account.

Out of the box, the framework includes a ready-to-use character controller, letting you quickly integrate avatars into your game and see them in action. If you already have a custom animation or control system, the avatars can easily be adapted to use your existing setup.

Whether you’re building a social experience, UGC platform, or multiplayer adventure, the Avatar Framework gives you the foundation to deliver characters that are expressive, performant, and unique to each player.

Simple and Secure Player Authentication

Genies Login set up is incredibly simple. Using the Starter Sample in the Avatar SDK package, you are able to easily customize the log-in UI with the preconfigured login scripts. On the Genies Hub website, developers and users can set up their accounts, so that they can leverage their avatars wherever Genies Login is integrated. Just by using your email address, you receive a one time password to use your Genie in the game. This streamlined login system provides a simple, persistent identity layer for your players, allowing them to carry their same avatar - and their inventory - anywhere the Genies framework is supported.

Avatar Editor and Closet: Player Customization Made Easy

The Avatar Editor is where your players can bring their digital identity to life. It gives them full control to customize their avatar’s appearance - from body features to facial details to outfit combinations. By default, we provide a base set of clothing for players, so that they have a variety of options to choose from. In the future, we’ll be updating content in the Genies Closet on a regular basis to provide players with plenty of clothing to further customize their avatar’s style, but we’ve also created a way that you can contribute to a player’s inventory and closet!

With our interoperable asset pipeline, you’re able to create your own clothing models and upload them into your own storage of wearables. Our Auto-rigging technology ensures that any asset can seamlessly work with each other while maintaining the high fidelity of a user’s avatar. These assets can be gifted, rewarded, or sold to players. Once given to a player, it automatically saves into their inventory, where they are able to use it and wear it wherever they play.

Bringing NPCs to Life with the Avatar SDK

The SDK isn’t just for players - it’s also built for developers who want to populate their worlds with expressive characters. Using the Avatar Editor, you can define custom avatars to serve as NPCs in your game. Once finished, you can save the created avatar to load into your game, becoming a character that exists in your world.

What’s Next for Developers

The Avatar SDK is just the beginning of our mission to empower developers to build rich, identity-driven games and experiences. Over the coming months, we’ll continue expanding functionality based on community feedback - including more wearables for the Genies Closet, deeper customization options for the Avatar Editor, and new pipelines for building and optimizing avatar assets.

• Genies Party SDK: Powering IP-Driven Platforms: The Genies Party SDK unifies our avatar, AIGC, and AI systems - giving you everything you need to build and publish immersive experiences directly to major IP-powered Party Platforms. 

Through our partnership with Unity, our goal is to streamline some of the most time-consuming parts of development - asset creation, rigging, optimization, and avatar logic - so you can bring high-quality, stylized games to market faster. We also believe AI avatars and real-time player creativity will unlock entirely new genres of play. Whether you’re building a narrative adventure, a UGC fashion battler, or a social sim, you’ll have the building blocks to create experiences that are personalized, evolving, and interactive.
