That’s what we’ve long believed at Genies, and with rapid developments across AI and XR technologies in recent years it's becoming increasingly evident that avatars are not just a possibility, but a vital component in the future of human expression and interaction.
Everything we have been building leads to Genies Party, our interoperable avatar social network coming in 2024. The way you behave and the way you look (as an avatar, of course) will persist through each experience available on Genies Party. Additionally, everything within Genies Party, from the digital fashion wearables on your avatar to these experiences for your avatar, will be crowdsourced from artists and developers alike using the Dev Kit (for developers) and the Workshop (for artists).

In the early days of Genies, we were just a few kids working above a taco shop and built our first Genies - 2D avatars with VERY big heads.

Our avatars quickly became popularized by culture. If a celebrity was using an avatar, it was almost always a Genie. Eventually we partnered with Universal Music Group, Warner Music Group, the NFLPA, NBPA, and MLBPA - setting us up to be the official avatar and digital goods provider for their entire rosters of talent.

In preparation for our avatars to be ported throughout a wider variety of interactive experiences, our 2D avatars soon evolved to become 3D. These 3D Genies became the most dynamic, high fidelity avatars on the market. It was at this time, during our Series C fundraising, that Bob Iger joined our board to help us build this vision.
